At its first meeting of 2025, the Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Alliance Board finalized the Yellow Bus Program parameters for the 2025-26 school year. Building on the success of the current year, the program will continue operating five buses serving the Reed Union School District, running a total of 17 routes—including a new afternoon route from Del Mar to Belvedere. Where possible, schedules have been thoughtfully adjusted to allow for later morning pickups and earlier afternoon drop-offs.
The Board also approved a modest increase in the annual one-way pass price from $345 to $360—the first adjustment in two years—reflecting rising operational costs. Passes will go on sale in late May on a first-come, first-served basis, with many routes expected to sell out quickly.
Additionally, the Board explored the possibility of adding a sixth bus to serve Saint Hilary School and provide transportation for students participating in after-school activities across the peninsula. This expansion would align with the JPA’s mission to reduce congestion on Tiburon Boulevard during peak hours. Staff will present a formal recommendation at the Board’s next meeting on May 2, 2025.
