Today, Assemblymember Damon Connolly sent a letter to Caltrans urging the agency to reconsider the inclusion of bike lanes in the Tiburon Blvd Capital Preventive Maintenance Project. Connolly—initially supportive of the bike lanes—listened to the voices of Tiburon Peninsula residents who participated in a letter-writing campaign to amplify the concerns raised by the Tiburon Peninsula Traffic Alliance, Reed Union School District, the City of Belvedere, and Marin Transit. His letter urges Caltrans to rethink the bike lanes and to engage with local stakeholders to develop a safer, more balanced approach.
We thank Assemblymember Connolly for his leadership and understanding of the importance of prioritizing public transit, including our Yellow Bus Program, in Tiburon Boulevard’s redesign.
